Pre-Prep Day

Some of our pre-preps engaging in a hungry caterpillar activity.

Our bright and eager pre-prep students attended our second transition morning on Wednesday to experience our unique environment in readiness for Prep in 2019.

the pre-prep students began their morning in the classroom doing puzzles, working with building blocks and completing a cut and paste activity about feeding the very hungry caterpillar.

The pre-prep students then had a chance to explore chemical reactions. We worked together to conduct two experiments 'Milky Rainbows' and 'Dancing Sultanas'. next we went outside to engage in water play.  We investigated the concepts of full, half full and empty.  Mrs Schmidt had us try to guess what mystery object she put into the water! It was a tray of mung beans which we then planted in the community vegetable garden.

Finally we had a trip to the school kitchen where we baked some wonderful fruit filled pastry treats for morning tea.

Thank you to everyone who has attended our pre-prep days and allowed us to welcome our newest students to our school.
